Should I trade: EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM for EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM (note version 1)

Andrew, I think it's the nature of the EF 24-105. I had version 1 and 2 and the EF 24-70ii is better than either of them. It seems you trade off a bit of image quality for the usefulness of 24-105.

Thanks for response, I realize that 24-70L MKII is as sharp as prime. But I was comparing to Mark I, older version.
Based on OpticalLimits MTF test they should be close

I just got the 2470 mki this year, so far I really like the contrast & saturation of this len.

Also, I used to own 24105 mki (not mkii), not too bad, more versatile but lack of f2.8
