I spend quite a bit of time driving to places to take photos of birds. My wife has a different approach. While sitting on the lounge watching Netflix, she grabbed my camera from the adjacent shelf and snapped this through the open louvred window. It's a yellow oriole, Oriolus flavocinctus. Note her tail sticking up as she doesn't really fit well into the nest.

Thanks Mike, there is a ringing group that operate on these marshes so most of the kingfishers about have been got!

I'll bet that caused some ribbing whilst you have to venture out wife nonchalantly captures a beautiful photo of a lovely bird at home!

this one spent at least an hour and half in one spot today, then moved on to a gate then to this over hanging piece of wood
I didn't see it catch anything but it's beak tells a different storey

A Wood duck.

Sparrow Hawk in my garden.
He came for dinner every day at about 6 PM.
One day he seemed to crash into the tree where the sparrows live and he was kind of knocked out for 10 minutes
