Grabbed my old Canon G12 out of the camera bag . . .

If a G12 qualifies as P&S, then I can use my G15 for this week's WWPW, same as always! I thought the G series was in the bridge category.

I would say G15 is okay. It's a fixed lens (non-interchangeable), isn't it.

Yes, fixed lens. I also have a smaller Canon, clearly in the compact category, not used recently. Besides its deficiencies compared with the G, its half shutter press had stopped working.

I'd just use the G15.

I don't think it matters what camera we use ,but how we use it. Just grab it, go out, point it and shoot without too much aforethought - That's how I'd interpret it

When WWPW had this topic before, I handicapped myself by using the G15 in Auto. The shots came out so good, you'd never know I hadn't chosen the settings.:-P

That may be taking it too far, Tim. She said "way too much thought." Suppose we try putting in just a little too much thought. Then the parameters change. It might be all right to use a $10,000 Leica if you pay attention to nothing while shooting, except holding the camera more or less upright.

All right, enough talking, time for shooting. For these, I found fairly random, and unexciting, subjects around the house. I did choose some settings but did very little fiddling with poses or angles. The energy saved by not fiddling was redirected into writing captions.

I love the colours in the first, but that spot is magic
(notice ^ I'm learning a second language :p)

Thank you Joanne, I have never understood why we have the different spellings. This
was my first time to that spot, will not be my last.

Went for a walk at sunset tonight.

The British spelling, "colour," is older than "color." Noah Webster created many simplified forms like "color," and some of them became standard in the U.S. Spelling reform in English has a long history (external link). Some proposed changes stuck and others didn't.

Your "quick shot" of Flash came out really nice, better than a lot of traditional slow shots.
