Malmesbury Abbey, well, what's left after 'enery VIII had a go at it.

After our 'enry had had the place part knocked down during the general dissolution of the monasteries in the 1500s they tried to rebuild a spire on the remander but that fell off causing even more damage. It was thought thqt the combination of a lightening strike and the fact that it was too heavy for the damaged structure under it was the cause. It could have been that Big G didn't like it

Lutheran church in Windhoek, Namibia. Not as old or impressive, but a bit of a landmark

St Mary's Church. Westerham. Kent. UK.
On my first visit to this church - as in common with many others I was unable to enter due to the pandemic.
I was in the area a few weeks back and it was open. I unfortunately did not have a tripod or off camera flash for these internal shots.
Two interesting links:-

140 years and counting ! Gaudi would have been quite surprised me-thinks!

I wonder how they would have managed without the modern building kit?

Have wondered the same about the cathedrals from the 1400 and 1500's.

Imagine you were a stone mason, working on this building, which your father was working on, and your grandfather and your grand-grandfather..
