Old Public Telephone, without the box.
I wonder if you gave a handful of quarters to a kid today and told them to make a long distance call on this. Could they do it?

I was going to make a joke here, but I think our grandkids might be challenged by a survey map, purely because they don’t need to know as they have all got gps in one form or another, I dunno if you’ve noticed, they can type out a text message while we are still thinking about it - well, me anyway

You're right, but my issue with the new teaching is the fact that we can't even write are name in cursive!

I do have feeling for the teachers (some of 'em) They are so tied by political correctness, paperwork and records and some are in fear that one minor blunder could ruin their career. I was teaching adults for 15+ years after I retired from my career and enjoyed it - I annoyingly had to keep accurate records and try to be a bit politically correct - Although I would not have got an award for it. But it was not my career - And there is one thing about not having a career - You do not have to worry about it! I did not teach English - I'd probably have failed.

You gotta wonder what the next trend will be with these old phoneboxes. Pay phones, emergency police calls, time and space machines, defibrilators... I'm going to guess legal gambling machines or virtual reality booths.

We don't have pay phones in Australia any more. The few public phones that are left are now all free to use.
