I'm not sure if these are the same black fox. To me the one in the second photo looks smaller and younger, but it could just be because how he/she is posed. Both shots were taken within less than a quarter mile of my house in the foothills of Boulder, CO. (The second one was actually just outside my backyard).

Foxes (black or red) are among my favorite subjects to shoot pictures of -- so beautiful, photogenic, and curious!

Thanks, I don't really know. I didn't see any other critters, but it's rural Maine so could be any variety of tiny rodents. :lol:
