Canon has no indication of this tiny battery charge level rather than one short warning, just before battery craps out.
No indication in deep menu. It just nothing in battery info.
And it is lethargic to wake up in Eco.
I'm missing shots due to this.
Rebel's batteries ain't much bigger but lasting for days. Not few hours.

Third-party batteries are super cheap, very small and can be changed in literally seconds.

Rather than keeping the camera in eco mode and risking missed shots, it seems to me a better remedy would be simply to change batteries after every few hours of use. I usually carry 4 to 6 batteries for every shoot but I can't recall ever actually using more than two.

There are plenty of cameras with far greater battery capacity. But then you'd have to forfeit the small size and light weight of the RP which is so appealing.

Pick your poison.

You forgot to add mayor factor. Lowest price. Because A7C is just as small and light. But doesn't need bag of batteries.

Yep, I paid roughly half the current A7C price for my RP new.

I had an A7 series camera but sold it. Nice sensor, ergonomics not so much.

I tested A7C indoors. Didn't liked skin tones. And they say it has improved WB comparing to A7III.
It looks like Sony A7 series ain't as good as Canon FF bodies for it.

The RP battery indicator actually has three levels: Sufficient charge, low charge, and very.low (subject to dying any moment) which flashes orange. There is also one that indicates the battery needs to be changed or charged to take pictures (assuming there's enough charge to turn on the display). Not all that great,, but adequate.

Yesterday, some how I couldn't reenable back button AF on it. In frustration, I reset the whole thing.
Today, for very first time having it since new, I have seen orange flashing battery low level...

Haven't posted in here for while. Bought the R6 and use it most of the time. I couldn't sell the RP and still use it as a second camera keeping the RF 50mm 1.8 or my wide angle and the R6 with 85 or 35 1.4.

Here are a few with RP and 50mm.

Got my RP recently with a nice Black Friday discount sale incl. RF 24-105 4 L IS. After a decade of all generations 5Ds its my mirrorless entry - R5 as main body maybe next year. So far I am really impressed by the RPs AF and low light performance compared to my 5DIII. To take precise photos in dark situations is something I haven't even thought about with my 5DIII. I have read all the reviews full of disappointment regarding the RPs specs and performance BUT for me it is something like a revelation. A very positive one.
