I love all of these edits but my affinity for portraits leads me to choose one of these edits. RDWP, Mozes and NigelD's second edit are about at a tie. If I have to choose(and I do), I will choose NigelD.

Congrats Nigel and take it away!

from acr, without any adjustments to photoshop.
did make the reds a bit stronger.
new layer for some light strakes, in the warm color thats in the image already.
use off the radial filter (zoom and radial both) for the blur
corect white balans for a bit warmer tone.
Lifted the shadows and dark parts a bit with a new layer with the selected dark parts.
Now back to acr, and adjust the exposure, with, blacks and some more warm color with the temparature settings.
did a radial filter on the boot, to make the white's a bit stronger
ones again in photoshop removed the noise with one1 denoise.

Thats it.

its agreat image wel done kudo's for you.
I have a lot off presets, and with every one off them, the image still looks great.
I did not use any preset, it did feels like cheating ;-)a

Thanks - hadn't seen this particular thread but activity there has been rather intermittent to say the least. Will have a go at Mr. (Mrs.?) Pelican. (Thanks 'Peano)

Nigel this is truly a gorgeous shot! If it were mine, I would have a poster-sized copy of it mounted on a prominent wall.

PL5: Optical Corrections and NR=>Aurora 2018(thanks Martin!): HDR treatment=>PL5: Further processing(tone and color, local adjustments)=>Landscape Pro: Add just a touch of Autumn warmth.

Love the mood of the image, so I wanted to keep it moody. Gorgeous Capture .

Merged layers in LR and made basic adjustments, then into PS, ran it through Aurora back into PS for curves and color grading.

Not competing ... I agree, a lovely photo. Processed raw in ACR and further adjusted brightness in PS CS6. Color selectively adjusted in Topaz Clarity, selective sharpening in Topaz Detail 3. Cloned out small distractions on the left side along the road.

Second image: Just for fun, added some fog/mist on the canal.

I decided to give this lovely shat a wintry effect

1. PL4 lens correction and denoise
2. Aurora (Modesto preset)
3. ACR graduated filter (twice) and mist enhancement
