Accepted

Yes there is a lot more to say about Fungi these days, but it's still acceptable as plant life.
They are also the telecommunications system and the fuel transfer system for trees.
So much we don't know, that we think we know

Joayne, really like the last sentence in this paragraph.
Being involved in livestock farming my entire life I find it amusing that many plants that were eliminated from the farms a hundred years ago and some to this day, are now known to be some of the most beneficial and are making a come back. First ones that come to my mind are known as native grasses that prove themselves to be extremely high in protein, fast and abundant growth, drought tolerant, some are flood tolerant and can achieve some of the highest rates of gain/lbs of beef per acre. Uh, guess the Bison that roamed the plains by the millions had a good system until we thought it could be improved upon,:-)
My goal is to try to take pics of some of these plants I'm talking about and share. Been unable to use my cameras for awhile and that needs to change. Thanks for keeping photo week going, I have been checking in,:-)

Tim, I like your mushroom pic, but there's news about the subjects. Fungi (external link)are no longer classified as plants. They actually have more in common with animals, saith Wikipedia.

Looking for the "give it a rest" icon here.

In our rush to "modernize" agriculture we've replaced so many beneficial native plants. The prairie grasses that held the soil in place come to mind. Their deep roots and ability to regrow season after season to feed those bison.. we thoughtlessly removed to plant corn.

Tiny rosemary sprig, rooting in water. I hope to get a usable plant out of it. Sorry about the quality; the light was poor today (rainstorm).

Looks viable..
It grows like a weed here. I've got to chop it back to keep it under control.
It's in the area where I have the tortoises and every time they walk through it it releases the scent.
If you ever need some cuttings, I've got 'em!

Thanks. Yes, rosemary tends to turn into an impenetrable hedge. If this one survives, I'll confine it to a container. Fresh rosemary is so much better than dried.
