Just in case some casual Owl thread browsers are unaware, Owls, like many Birds, particularly raptors, expel pellets.
They don't have teeth so can't chew their food. This juvenile Powerful owl, like most Owls, consumes mammals and the entire mammal bar a couple of gut bits, is swallowed.

Bones, fur, whiskers, claws cannot be digested so come back out via the way they went in, in a package called a pellet.

For Powerful owls, a few open beaked movements occur up to half an hour before the final expulsion which takes a few seconds.
