Epic! A special image that. :-)

OK, not the shooting conditions I would ever want=Setting Sun was 1-2 feet to the right of the owl in the tree :(
A member of our group saw this owl fly into a group of trees but no fly out. Even knowing the 5-7 trees it was in it took
20 min's of slowly doing up and down the truck at 840mm to find him. I'm sure I went over him several times before the
aha moment.

Lots of images in this post but I wanted to show you the series I captured of this kingfisher eating his breakfast. Super fun to watch.

Thanks David! Yes they sure are. I like the noise they make. And they are quite striking in their appearance and color.

Very dope sequence! My wife just got into bird watching. Got her her first binoculars for it. A pair of vortex diamondback HD 8x42. She liked them more than a pair of Nikon Monarchs M5 8x42. Which I was surprised at. It came down to feel on her hand.

Thank you! That sounds like a great choice in binos. I’m going to start bringing my Nikon when I go photographing wildlife.

Sony related just not camera related

Been trying to get one of these all year, finally got one this morning. Strapped it in safely for the journey home :-P

I’m pretty sure I already replied to congratulate you, but am suspicious that my feigned expression of jealousy may have triggered the forum filter and my post appears to have been deleted. So, I’ll try again with a more straightforward sincere version so as not to confuse the system: CONGRATS on the PS5!!!

The last year has been crazy on the unavailability of the next-gen consoles. I think my wait for an available Series X console is going to go on for many more months yet. Anyway, I’m happy for you and hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of it. :)

I’m mostly out of the loop on what the a7IV features are, besides a nice bump in resolution, but surely it’s going to be an awesome camera. Selfishly I’m happy with your purchase because it (hopefully) means we’ll be seeing a whole lot more of your photography in this thread again. :)

:-P:-P Thanks David. Really liking it so far, the controller makes the previous controller feel like a kids toy, so much of a leap forward. Console seems great too from the games I’ve played so far

The 200-600 on the A1 is a heavy beast, but that reach is nice. I had originally rented a 100-400 but the one they had, didn't have a lens hood, and at the track that is important and a needed accessory. So they loaned me the 200-600 instead. The biggest drawbacks are the weight and the filter size, I don't have ND filters for that lens, which means shooting at much smaller apertures.
