Two very memorable moments from 2021. First - a young GHOW who had just fledged perched on an eye-level branch in the rain. Second - I came across a group of Cedar Waxwings gorging themselves in a berry tree in a parking lot next to Home Depot (where I was headed). Good thing I had my camera with me!

I started out liking the Bird Portrait thread but now utterly dislike it as it has become a dumping ground. I hardly ever post in it now.

Anyway, I didn’t shoot much this year but I have some images I’m quite pleased with. I need my Mac to go through this year’s collection and will look tomorrow. For now here are two favourites from my gallery, a Great crested grebe.
And a Grey heron shot that I like. The RF800/11 worked well here I think.

Both great but that grebe is spectacular! That 800 f11 looks interesting. And I thought I was finished building my lens collection...sigh...

That’s a big compliment, Chris. Thank you very much!

As to the 800/11, it’s quite an amazing lens. Imagine what it could do with your EOS R!

It just never ends, does it?

Just found this thread. I must have been sleeping, but thanks Rob for starting it.

Here are two to start...Oops just noticed it was "bird images".

How about these...Verdin and Gilded Flicker.

And two more to complete the submission. Best of the holidays to everyone, and hoping for a more stable 2022.

A Burrowing Owl and a female Gambel's Quail.

Great shots Tom! Though I think you're still sleeping LOL! Those was the 2021 bird thread... there is another 2021 wildlife thread I think. It's all good though!

Fantastic! That owl shot is wonderful... what luck to stumble across that situation!

That is the best bird image I've seen in a long, long time!
Happy Festive Season.

There are many answers to question.

Wow, hatch - that is superlative! Really love the composition and how my eyes go round and round the frame, with interest everywhere.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
