This reminds me of when I was a kid in grade school in the home my parents owned. Once or twice a year a bat would get into our home and fly around upstairs where my twin brother and I would sleep and we would hear the bat flapping his wings inside the upstairs. The upstairs was all open, one room only.

Thankfully they were not as scary looking as your bat is, but oh it was not fun either!! Poor Mom would have to come up with a straw broom trying to hit the bat with the broom. No fun for my poor mother either!!

Consider the poor bat Charles. Being chased round the room by a woman with a broom! :-P

They sure are fascinating creatures. The bat! (I live with the other, complete with straw broom! Must go hand in hand :-P)

As long as they don't start flying around themselves on those brooms!:-P

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

QUOTED IMAGE

Jackal, Maasai Mara, Kenya

What a lovely shot, Dave! When I first looked at your image, I assumed it was a fox. Little did I know it was a jackal.

A Wigeon.

Very nice coot shot, fotoi! The color is great, and I like the droplet of water falling from the end of the coots beak.

Thanks Mike. I found them to be very fox-like. Kind of like something between a fox and coyote

Alligator
This small dam is always occupied by dozens of Cormorants.
They quickly vacated when this unexpected guest climbed over the wall.
Happy trails.
