Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is Photographers Choice. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Your are free to post anything of your choice this week.. Photographers Choice

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

It's been cold and rainy here for many days. Going out is uncomfortable, and the light is, let's say, "subtle." This is all I got recently: the entry of a neglected cottage that may or may not still be occupied.

I especially like the little patches of green paint that have been exposed by the brown paint flaking away. . Somehow those two little patches of green tie the whole thing together for me, from a color palette standpoint.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Thank you. The scattered green weeds and fallen leaves in the foreground–do they participate in this unification?

No, they don't. . Because they strike me as a bright, chartreusey green, while the exposed patches of paint are the opposite kind of green, more toward the cooler side. . And the exposed patches of paint are flat and dull (which I love) instead of bright (which I don't love). . To me, those patches of flat cool green paint tie in with the mildew or mold or whatever it is on the lower course(s) of shakes.

Okay, I see what you're talking about now. As Kermit said, it's not easy being green. There are too many ways. The algae stains (or whatever) on the wall are actually on the yellowish side, but their color is subdued, which is the right thing for this scene.

I love the cold because I think snow and ice and frost are among the most beautiful things in the world ... and the colder it is, the longer those things last.

So, all happy about the current cold snap that swept in a couple days ago, I went for a drive today to photograph whatever winterscapes struck my eye. . These snow-covered trees did it for me. . And if the -10F temps continue, we'll have these gorgeous conditions for a while yet.

Something we do not see much around here.
It has been so cold here that the mighty
Fraser River is freezing.

While rearranging our Christmas decoration storage area we ran across my Dad's old Underwood.
He only used a pen to sign his name, everything else -- notes, letters, envelopes -- was done on this typewriter.

Nostalgia! We had an Underwood something like that. It must have been a different model; I don't recall that it had any colored markings. I did my homework on it all the way through high school.
