Smoke On The Water

The river was still open at Trempealeau Wisconsin Dam on Sunday January 2nd and steam rising up off the water to about 40 feet. Eagles were collecting and fishing the open water there in their hundreds.

Thanks Levina, it was good to see the eagles again, but it was about an hours drive to get up there. A friend and I were over East of here at another eagle hotspot yesterday too, but nothing was really close enough for the glass I've got. Which sounds like a perfect excuse to buy a 600mm canon lens I been looking at.)

I guess hunger will make them willing to put up with each other. They sure don't gather like this when the water is open.
