Thanks Bill, we have a very similar workflow up until this stage. I also have yearly folders with sub-folders inside. The bit Im trying to work out is the next step to this. Currently around 75% of my images remain as edited RAWs within LR (i.e no conversion to jpeg or tiff). I essentially want to create a full res jpeg of all my RAWs once edited so that if I no longer have access to LR there is still a digital copy of the final edit.
Just don't know what the best way of doing this is though so curious to see what others do. It could be that people don't worry about this and its just me

Eddie,
I think I'm doing just as you describe. Edit in LR->export every file as full res jpeg. Basically if I take the time to edit I export as full res jpeg. The idea is that I have a finished product within an organized filing system for whoever/whatever needs it down the road. I figure if I'm not around nobody is going to know how to dig into LR for the files. That said, I am a heavy culler and not a RAW file hoarder. I do my best to keep only the best (and many times the second best
). So my output folders don't have 100's and 100's of edited shots. I don't really feel like my HD is a dump. And I don't really care about storage these days. I've get a slick backup system...but that's another topic.
I vote you export the files you take the time to edit. Your family will appreciate it if they ever need to looking for things.
