Enjoying espresso at home now... it is so much more difficult that I would have ever expected.

I looked into getting an espresso machine a few months ago but yes way too much work. At least you got some cool photos out of it!

Tamron 18-300 lens for Fuji X-Mount

I recently began to use Fuji gear for the first time, and am impressed by many features. However, as I still predominantly shoot other brands, I wanted a single walk-around lens to put on a body and leave there. The lens is weather-sealed, stabilized and has a lens zoom lock - although I experienced no lens creep.

At this point I became aware of a new development for Fuji, an apparent alliance with Tamron, who have made lenses for Sony APS-C cameras, but had not created a super zoom for the Fuji X.
Frankly, I have always been a bit leery of super zoom lenses as the massive focal range often comes at the expense of image quality. So, after a LOT of research, I discovered that the lens is actually one of the best so far, and consistently exceeded the expectations of several reviewers like Justin Abbott:

So, I bought one of these lenses and here are a couple of images: both taken at our local domain, where there were several cricket matches in progress.

These were taken in RAW and very modestly processed for normal corrections, downsizing of imager size etc. in Photoshop. The camera was in IBIS mode and the lens was optically stabilized. BOTH HAND HELD.

The first one is taken at 18mm - 24mm Equivalent FoV

The second zoomed in to 300mm - 450mm FoV

Tamron 18-300 Lens Test #2:

The same lens at 18mm (24mm Equivalent FoV( looking towards the cricket pavilion. I was mindful of the condition of the building on the far right, as regards deformation of image, and it was easily correctly aligned within PS with normal lens correction - the lens is listed.

From the same position, zoomed in to 300mm (450mm Equivalent FoV)

Old racing injury coming back to haunt me, although I did dislocate it again  Been a week now and still can't lift up a camera or fly a drone which is not good for my mental health, might try some Auto and left hand stuff next week.

Get a monitor (like the ones for video) or use your phone on the hot shoe tilted up. The just let the camera rest around your neck and look down at the monitor/phone and press shutter. Similar to what shooting on a film hasselblad would have been.

Your neck/shoulders bear the weight of the camera all your hand has to do is press shutter. Or if using the app take the phone in your left hand as a viewfinder/shutter release.

Thanks all, bought a few boxes of this to play with just need to run out the remaining 7 prints already in the printer. Good physio today with a lot of returned movement, hoping to get away easy on this one as I have an advertising shoot next month to do, although could always hire another assistant on the day I guess
