Hi everyone,
I'm sharing a pic I took of my son (Red-Black) wrestling. This was my first time taking wrestling pics. I was using Canon EOS R and Canon 85mm f1.8.

I would suggest getting some kneepads and moving around the mat if possible. I shoot high school sports and when I shoot wrestling, I move to different corners of the mat as different wrestlers complete their match. You have a great kit for shooting wrestling!

Jan 16, 2022 19:26 | #5 I would bump up the iso to get a faster shutter speed and open up the aperture to get both subjects in focus. Even young wrestlers move around fast enough to create a blurry photo at 1/500 sec. You have a camera that is capable creating clean images at much higher iso. I think you'll get many more keepers.

Jan 23, 2022 09:32 | #12 The EF 85mm f1.8 is a great lens for indoor sports. Nice shot. I would agree with trying to get a bit more shutter speed. I try to get at least 1/800-1/1000, if I can
