That is a really nice shot of 370z, such a fun car. How do you like the brake upgrade on that?

Those are the stock brakes, just with the Z1 2 piece rotors and I have EBC Redstuff pads (will go more aggressive next round!)... I kept going through front rotors on it, so now with the 2-piece rotors, they can withstand a ton of abuse at all temps, but if it were going on a track, you would still want to run some cooling ducts and more aggressive pads. It's plenty for a street setup however

Now that ride would definitely enable me to get photos that I cannot currently get.

Is that what you use it for? . To access 4 wheel drive only areas so that you can take photos from the paths less traveled?

I just like to explore, and this happens to be the car I currently own. Photo from outside of Tombstone, AZ if I can remember correctly.

It wasn’t until about four years ago that I even knew that this set up existed, I just happened to see it installed onto a Nissan Frontier at the Auto Show and not long later saw your set up.

Every time that I see these pictures the same thought pops into my head, there is no doubt in my mind that Toyota could benefit greatly from your adventures by how you have it outfitted and where you drive the vehicle. The vehicle itself literally conveys you to and through these adventures and with the natural backgrounds could easily become the subject matter of the adventures.
Have you ever thought of contacting Toyota and/or the manufacturer of the rooftop tent to see if they would be interested in sponsoring your adventures?

I really like the set up that you have and admire the fact that you’re able to set out on these adventures on a regular basis, hopefully sometime in the near future I’ll be in a position that will allow me to do the same.

Thanks, that's very nice! I'm just a regular joe - I first saw these tents on African Safari trucks (they originated in Africa) and always thought they were so cool. Eventually I was in a position to buy one, and I so I did. Really the only thing aftermarket on my vehicle is the tent on the roof and a leveling kit that gives it a little bit more ground clearance. I just buy Toyotas because the don't give me any trouble. This one currently has 235k miles on it and runs without a hiccup.

I have actually dreamt about exactly what you mentioned - having a sponsorship of some sort that would allow me to travel full time. Perhaps it's something I will look into further. The reality is that these types of trucks/tents are a common sight these days, so I don't think I do anything out of the ordinary. I just love getting away from this cartoon world as much as I can. I'm grounded for a few months helping out my sister while my brother-in-law is on deployment to the middle east. But I am trying to work on ways to fund more adventures in the future.

Even without the gear, I'd still be out there exploring. Although the progression has been fun.

Hahaha, I paid $30 for that tent and used it for probably 5-6 years.

Like your tent pole on the rain fly.

Lol, there's one on the back, too. Extra tarp for when there was rain in the forecast. The pegs/stakes had the guy-lines permanently attached, and I just tied carabiners to the other end so that I could just unroll them and stake it down in a couple minutes. Always had to find a couple of sticks though, haha. Sometimes they weren't so straight...! That particular one put a nice gash in my face if I remember correctly. Almost poked my eye out.
