Thank you. Hawk was on a power line, and I was able to get within thirty feet. Shot at 600mm.

Thank you. One thing I have never understood about POTN, is why when some people post a picture (like myself), all of the exif data is there which includes data for the camera body, and what lens is used and data for the lens.

Your picture above only shows data for the camera body. For some other people there is NO data at all shown. I always like to see ALL of the data for camera body and lens.

POTN normally posts all the EXIF data on my photos. I have the Sigma 150-600C listed in my "inventory" but for some reason, POTN does not pick up the lens data. I will try to remember to add that data on future posts. I like to see it too.

I also have to choose my Sigma 150-600 lens whenever I use that one, but it is in the list my MY owned lenses.

In the EXIF standard, lenses (and manufacturers) are identified by numbers. Unfortunately there are some number combinations that got reused, and the 150-600 is one of them. So it's literally impossible to tell from the EXIF in a picture whether it was taken with a 150-600 or a Sigma 70-200. (Well, you can be clever and say that if a photo was taken at 70mm it must have been the 70-200 and if it was at 500 it must have been the 150-600, but at 175mm there's no way to tell.)

The POTN site deals with it by asking you when you post the picture. I don't know what it does if you don't answer the question (I always tell it which lens). I think it also does the clever thing of checking the actual focal length. But I don't think it looks at the person's equipment list (after all, maybe the photo was taken with a rented lens).

There's also the issue that various postprocessing tools can change the EXIF data as much as they want...

Geoff
All I want is a 10-2000 f/0.5L with no distortion that weighs 100 grams, fits in my pocket, and costs $300. Is that too much to ask?

I've had issues lately as well, but with other lenses that are on my list. It seems like it isn't just the Sigma 150-600 C

There is also the Sigma 150-600mm Sports model for about double the money, there is also what I used to own the 150-500mm model now dis-continued, then other 150-600mm models from other manufacturers.
