Naw, there's a narrow ledge in some spots and trail in other spots.. pretty easy for these... others can be a bit, in which I'll either attempt a climb, or use the 100-400II if I can get the right angle...

I always use a polarizing filter on these as you're going to have some kind of glare almost all of the time.

BTW: you can hit the "quote" button, and it will capture what you're replying to in the event others are looking for context in the future

Thanks! If I can, I try for some sorta backround as most of them simply don't allow for it, so it's nice to be able to do something other than a straight on shot. Most petroglphys and pictographs are lower among large walls or rocks, so it's been rare to vary up the compositions... plus we got some fresh snow

Just curious... why did you not use the "quote' button here?

I love using the "quote" over the "reply" at all times. Much easier to see what the subject data is your talking about.

Gee. I was hoping you would say that you had on rocket boots.

Thanks for the suggestion. Will try to remember to use the "quote" button.

All good!!

Yeah the ones you have to worry about are some of the granaries high up on cliffs... those can be an interesting climb to get to and if you're miles from another human = be careful!!

Spring? Already? It's supposed to be a high of 12 degrees F here tomorrow, and -4 on Monday. I'm trying not to be jealous.

Sunrise on Mt. Whitney in the Alabama Hills. I have wanted to add this image to my portfolio for a couple years now, finally made it happen last week.

You were at the right place at the right time for that one.

I knew when to be there and that helped a lot. I knew we were going to have clear skies the whole week, except for the day of the fire of course! To my surprise, we did not have to fight for space on the rock.

Back to the dunes...because I just loved shooting these so much. There were textures everywhere, the side that was predominantly facing the wind was usually smooth, the other side...had the coolest ripples and ridges. I could shoot this kind of thing all day.
