Here are a couple of 16 frame stacks (Helicon FB Tube ) of one of the Paper Wasps earlier this morning, when they were a little less active. This helps minimise movement of legs and antennae between frames.
I re-configured my Helicon FB Tube to a step size value of 10, as I think I had it set for my 100mm Macro Lens so I wasn’t getting enough steps with the 180mm and x1.4 Extender.
I couldn’t get the IOS App to work when tried to re-configure the Helicon FB Tube, so I had to download and install the Windows App which did work. I have the original Helicon FB Tube which uses the Headphone Jack to re-configure the lens and settings. The current model has a magnetic connection for data transfer.
I think for the Canon system you are not able to store more than one lens and lens setting (the current) and I have not yet found a method of establishing which lens and what step size are currently configured. This means that to be sure that I have the correct config for the lens, I need to re-config the FB Tube each time, or keep a written record of what I last used.
These were stacks of 16 frames and the bracketing is smoother due to the smaller step size. I understand that the step size is an arbitrary number, related to the angle of rotation of the AF on the lens, so a numerical setting of 10 gives “thinner” slices or smaller steps than 25.
Cheers
Dennis
