So no V60s?

I use the V90 Tough SD cards and don't usually have issues, I can get about 120 shots or so before the buffer becomes an issue...for what I shoot, that is a long burst. So it doesn't happen often.

That was my plan until I remembered I still have a perfectly functional a7R II sitting in the back of my gear cabinet!! But, yeah, I’ll be predominantly shooting the a7S III, but can still take the a7R II out for any high res landscape or architectural outings I might want to do.

Yes me too on keeping the A7Rii and bet Travis did too.
Even by today's standards is is still a remarkable imaging machine.....except BIF'ing haha!

My favourite landscape shots from our trip to the Alps, unusually, all with the 85mm!
The first and second are both views from our chalet.
The third is a pretty heavy crop.

Payboo from B&H? Is it worth it? Thanks.

I think so....save the tax in TN which is 10 percent (though no state income tax).
I did the A1 and the 600 that way. Paid off the 600 in the first month because you know
the annual % rate with payboo is scorching.

Holy crap..... Not been keeping up with the posts on POTN for a couple of weeks and have over 1000 posts to go through between here and the birding forum! hahaha :-)

Yeah I can't do it. When I was gone for the 2 weeks huge amounts posted but with my limited internet resources here I can only go back
a couple of pages at most. Even the 'like' button gives HughesNet problems.
I was one of the first in my area to sign up for ElonLink (Starlink) but so far I'm not a candidate/mountains+forests I guess :(
In fact other than a post to Flickr this thread is the only photoforum'ish thing I do. I miss the birds in flight forum but just don't
have the bandwidth.

Thanks, guys. I canceled the V60s and ordered V90s. Of course, Amazon will refund the rewards points I used on the original order in 5-7 days so I couldn't use them to buy.

Yep, you know I only use UHS-II sd's but there are v90.
My other big pisser about the CFA cards is they are small.
On the James River I filled up a 256gb card in the first hour.
What would that have cost in CFA when I started filled the other 256gb sd?
Price difference is a trip to Florida haha! Seriously.

Some zeal lost in BIF'ing.
Why? Honestly it is almost two easy now.
Of course I still have to stay on the target, hope for good backgrounds/light/etc.
But starting with the a9 and now the A1 Sony really puts the image on your card.

I remember the 1DXii, the 7Dii; now post a9 it is no wonder why DSLR is long long dead.

Nice!

I let the R3 go and hope I don't live to regret it. Sold one of the a9s as well. I still use the wife's a7 for landscapes at the coast but will now have to use it inland. Should be good for a while.

Does anyone have any input or advice on shooting F1? I've shot some autosport, but not like that.

I'm unsure my A7riii/mc-11/200 2.8 L ii combo is going to be up to the task as a one-lens solution, and I'm considering either hiring a 7Dii for extra reach (and a couple other advantages) or an RX10iv or iii for the FPS, ultimate reach and versatility... I expect to be about anywhere around the track during the weekend, going to be there as a sponsor's guest with my family.

Getting a press pass is an option, but do I really need it there? I looked for guest photography rules and couldn't find much.

Don’t have any photo advice for you but very very jealous of your access! F1 is my fav sport

I'll do my best to do the event some justice. It feels surreal that I'm even getting to go, let alone the possibility of having improved access. Most American sport fans dream of going to a Super Bowl or World Series (and that would be fun for sure), but this is a bucket list item for me with no caveats. Even better, my F1 fanatic soon-to-be 9 yo son will be there as well. It's not lost on me how lucky I am to have the opportunity, I just don't want to do anything to screw it up.

Ordered an A1. Sold some gear and made it happen. I will be down to my original a9 and now an a1. My wife still uses her original a7.

Now, questions about CF express cards. What is the difference between the A & B?

Congrats Bill! Looking forward to your shots with your new A1.

Jose, thank you. Looking forward to putting it through the paces. I got it in time for our RV trip to a state park where great-horned owls have little ones this time every year plus a lot of other stuff. Mom and dad to this pair from last year.

Last two from our skiing trip...

The first is the key to the outside ski store in our chalet, the second is my trusty steed.
