A couple from this afternoon: Birds Nest Fungi (Cyathus striatus) next to a clubmoss, and some Crepidotus sp. (I think?)

It's only the fruiting parts that die off though isn't it Richard. The mycelium just goes on working quietly underground.

It's the largest living thing on our planet and one of the longest living things too.
