Finally had an opportunity to shoot a bird that I have never been able to get close to. Well, this one didn't care I was close by.
A Common Redshank.

That’s beautiful, Charles. Such lovely light.

Thanks Levina, luck was on my side that morning. Literally 3 minutes before sunset i was driving past beautiful grasses on a road in the Kruger Park just about to be backlit by the rising sun. I thought wow, all I need now is a subject. A couple of minutes later I came across a small pride of lions on the move with the sun behind them walking toward me. Still have to go through the all the shots but this one stood out instantly!

I can’t even imagine what it would be like to live in a place where you can just go drive “on a road in the Kruger Park”. And then meeting a pride of lions? Wow. And you do photograph all the animals so well, Charles. I love your images.

The little dude you just posted is adorable. I think my  has melted. :-P

AMAZING!!! Birds are not my favorite creatures (assaulted by a mean goose on my grandfather’s farm when I was five), but that first image is spectacular. Both are very well done.

Thank you. I feel the same way about bees for a similar reason.
