This is some really spectacular lighting you've captured David! You picked the perfect time of day with the cloud and highlight contrast.:-)

The spillway structure detail you've framed here makes for some great abstract arrangements.

Perfect highlight illumination IMO. I'd love to see how this would appear as a really tight crop removing most of the foreground water, which I feel would resulting in a fascinating abstract. People would really wonder what they are looking at. It could also make an interesting B/W conversion with all the sharp contrast.

All of you have inspired me so I'm adding my contribution, the dam at Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland:

The Wanapum Dam is kinda my home dam. I check on it whenever I'm in the area, see how the light's treating it.

That first one is really nice with the "fog" bonus. I like the organic lines of the zig zag road as they contrast with the hard curves of concrete.

Thanks.

That's the Gorge Dam on the Skagit River in the North Cascades of Washington State. It's one of 3 dams on the Skagit backing up reservoirs on the west side of the Cascades running into Canada.

I met a bloke here who was telling me of his youthful exploits where he would walk behind that curtain of water.
He mentioned it being an awesome experience but also of one where there was very little air to breath.
