So Friday we headed to the Naki ......drove around the whole thing and she didn't show herself, then this morning a glimmer and gone so drove back up and waited, and behold see showed herself with fresh dusting of snow :)

Then I followed Mark V idea of the lost highway 43 4 hrs............. from Stratford to Taumarunui ......... lots to see. Then I said to my wife Ruapahu is 30 min away and that's where we are for sunrise.

Photos latter

PS wifey has finished 1 book already sitting in car while I take photos

Been wanting to do the forgotten highway for a while..... then we went into lockdown first time around.

Good luck for sunrise on Ruapehu, should be amazing if clear - if somewhat cold?

Woke up to rain and low cloud so just came home no sunrise

The forgotten highway is great this time of year with all autumn colours and on sunny day ........ very slow drive

Back to work tomorrow school holidays are at an end ...wont miss the early sunrise shoots.

Added a 100-200 lens to my GFX collection and discovered IS on lens needs to be on for IBIS to work so image bit soft.

Fog is your friend in Waikato :)
