What a great sequence! Great angle, really like the dive shot, hard to capture the sense of speed but this one does it. Very nice.

It is crazy how fast they dive. I had many shots of just water before this one.
Thank you for the very kind reply.

Cheers,
JOE

that backgroud(sky) is going crazy. is that from the compression, or a result from some other modification?

There is some subtle banding happening.

Thank you Mike.
The Purple Martin eggs are hatching in the large colony complex and the Parents are busy hunting for food.

Thanks for the compliment Mike.
It seems the Night Herons mostly choose dead branches of medium size.
Anhingas and Cormorants like fresh growth with leaves attached.
On this particular Island, Cormorants always nest in the Penthouse, Herons and Anhinga's on the outer edges,
Egrets in the middle and Night Herons secretly hidden on the ground floor with Alligators in the basement.
Happy trails.

Thanks Paul...that's quite interesting. I didn't realize they were so careful in selecting certain nesting sites, and the types of branches they choose.

LD, or Mike
Often mistaken, but never in doubt.
