Lovely portrait of this breeding Ruddy, Mike! I really like the repeat reflections and that dark green background that sets off the duck so well.

Great Ruddy shot Mike! The low angle is excellent and I love it when they have this breeding color on their bill.

Lincoln's Sparrow, I think.
Edit: Probably Song Sparrow. Thanks, steveb108.

What's a FOS Ovenbird?

Archibald, FOS = First of Season. Some also use FOY = First of Year.

An Ovenbird, which looks awful thrushy to me, is a species of warbler. It's got a distinctive call that's one of the few I can pick up easily when driving through a refuge.

First, lovely capture!

Almost 100% sure that's a Song. The upper breast and sides on Lincoln's tends to have an orangy/buff wash to it (along with that black dot that confounds us with sparrows!).

Checking my Sibley's again - and I think you're right. It seems to have some of both Lincoln's and Song, but indeed no orangy wash, and some other little things that now tip me to Song.
