It's a hard life...

Diva Kitty has been longing for more walks, the weather was nice and she’s bored with the side yard so today I took her out in the front courtyard for the first time. She loved it, and decided to go ahead and pose for a nice photo while she was out there. (Which does not happen often, as she’s usually on the move smelling ALL THE SMELLS and exploring as far as she can see.)

This must be the culprit. I call her Suzi-Q. She and her cousin live in my workshop and it is their duty to keep the mice from invading. They do a very good job but occasionally will bring in some entertainment from the outside. Once I opened a drawer in my tool box and there laid a dead chipmunk. A ripe one.
Anyway, this morning I went out to feed them and I heard a strange noise that made me think something must be wrong with the oil furnace upstairs. I quick turned off the circuit breaker on the panel just inside the door, but the noise didn't stop. I couldn't figure out what it was, so I went up the pull down attic steps to check it out. No, it's not an animal. One of the cats stepped up on top of a vacuum cleaner that was plugged in and turned it on when a paw activated the switch. I'll bet they went ballistic because they both run and hide when I vacuum their fur, food crumbs, and whatever litter they kicked out of the box. I'm just glad the power head/floor brush wasn't attached to the hose or it might have worn a hole in the flooring I recently installed. Here is the innocent looking little bugger before she was a year old. She'll be six or seven this summer.

As kittens both of our cats would love to play with shoes. Now as adults, they'll sniff them and rub their cheeks against them when they come inside, but otherwise don't care about them anymore

This is Nelson, a typical Swedish farmcat, and the other is Lucky, one of our Forrest cats.
