My brother has had his since 1976, and it works perfectly...

That’s about the same time I got mine.

As a high school student in 1972 my parents bought me an aluminum tripod, which I still use on occasion.
I believe they bought it from Sears. It's a basic tripod, and not as good as what can be had today.
I keep it mostly for sentimental reasons, as my parents passed away many years ago. I can't part with it.

Although I don't use it, my sister gave me her Kodak Brownie Starlet camera, that she got new in the early 1960s.

When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.
When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.

pretty sure i own the world's oldest, and heaviest, Manfrotto tripod. i only use it in the house now when i need to do some camera maintainance. can't believe i've lugged it around for over 10 years.

Ah, forgot about that. I still have (and use frequently) some 3021 legs and a 3047 head. I bought them new in ... '94?

Mostly using Canon bodies with lots of different lenses and flash.

I don't really buy new, but the piece I've had the longest and still use would be a Xenit ET w. Helios 44 that I picked up at a flea market in Germany in 89/90

I have a Pentax K-1000 that my dad bought brand new when it first came out, my dad taught me how to use it and before long I was using it more than him and so he gave it to me. This camera has been in my possession for 45-46 years now and I still use it to this day, I’ll keep and use it until I can no longer push the shutter button or I die, whichever comes first and then it will be passed to my daughter who also enjoys photography.

As you can see, I still have the original case, manuals, flash, lenses and filters it came with, even have some original lens cleaning paper.

This is my AE-1 Program Black Body, bought in Hong Kong, actually Kowloon, in 1984, still use it regularly to this day.

Funny story about this camera, I had walked into one shop and inquired about an A-1, the guy pulled it off the shelf and handed it to me, I liked it and asked how much, he told me the price and I said okay, I’ll take it, instead of selling it to me, he put it back on the shelf and refused to sell it to me because I insulted him. What the heck? Turns out that by me accepting the price he was insulted because I didn’t barter the deal with him.
I ended up going to another shop still wanting the A-1 but they were out of the A-1’s so I “bartered” for the Black Body AE-1 Program.

I admire you that you have been able to keep this camera and everything with it looking like it is still BRAND NEW!!

And as you stated you still have lens cleaning paper from back in the day!!
