Current acquisitions; Mitchell MS 450. Nice feature set for an inexpensive guitar, that is both a player and sounds real good...seriously.

Apr 01, 2022 19:12 | #290 Wanted to light the label inside but short of removing the strings to put a speedlight in I was stumped. The other attempts to composite an illuminated label didn't look right. Image hosted by forum (1151914) © ra40 [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

This one is completely stock. I added the Schaller strap locks after I got it. It's in very good condition... especially since it's 39 years old. These are pics I took for insurance purposes. JasonC do I need to submit a resume...? More info | Jun 07, 2022 11:29 | #295 New addition: A good value at it's price-point, and solid build quality. At $199 USD, is priced similar to a Squier Bullet Strat (and Tele), but the Jackson's QC, and fit and finish is easily better than current 2022 Bullets. On the Jackson, fret work and fret ends are better, the neck finishing is better. Even the Jackson's trem block has more mass than any current Squier. However, I can fault the Jackson's out-of-box tuning stability. Because of multiple break angles of the strings at the headstock, the strings were binding heavily at the nut. Gentle trem use, and even big bends would result in returning sharp. I worked on the nut, lubed it and it's tuning stability has vastly improved to the point where I can both use mild trem and big bends and still in tune. Otherwise, the Jackson is just a better value than the Squier Bullet at this price-point. Yeah, it's a Super Strat, but it's also an entry level gateway. Sure, I love my 4 Squier Strats, but I would wholeheartedly recommend a Jackson Dinky JS22 over a (Current) Squier Bullet to a newcomer. This is interesting in the fact that Fender owns Jackson, but then again, branding adds $ to a price tag. Squier carries Fender branding; Strats, Teles, JMs, Jags, Mustangs, et al. One pays extra for the brand. Why did I get the Jackson? Simple, I wanted both a no frills Super Strat, and to try out it's 12"-16" compound radius neck...which is fantastic!
