Hallelujah! Well worth the visit, and we got an interesting talk by one of the park rangers about U-boats in WW2. Schedule your tour online. 30 minutes; the others in our party left early and we had the place (and the rangers) to ourselves for most of that time.

That's pretty cool... I need to make a point to go visit some lighthouses, I learned that they are a lot cooler than I thought through trying to find yours. :D

I see what looks like a coastal marsh, a boardwalk along a local road, an RV park in the background and building construction that could be anywhere from Virginia down. Vegetation looks north of Florida. Anything i'm missing? Is there anything special about this place?

No RV park, everything else is correct. :)

Special? Hmm… it’s right down the road from a VERY popular tourist spot… only about 20min from one of the 5 most visited beaches in the US. (according to Newsweek)

I can't believe this but I think I found it. Murrell's Inlet, SC.

33.579944, -79.003740

Even shows the bush overgrowing the side of the bridge. I was looking near a popular beach (Myrtle Beach) for a car bridge with a boardwalk on the side, and bingo... there it was.

You got it! We love the beach, but don't really care for Myrtle Beach due to the traffic/crowds, so Garden City is our go-to. :D

Back to you! (I guess everyone else quit, haha)

I really lucked into that one, guided by the fact that its local to you.

OK, which Colorado pass did we have to ride down to reach this town?

QUOTED IMAGE

Did you ride all the way there? If so, I'm soooo jealous! I wanna take a 2-wheel cross country tour!

I will take a stab, is it one along the Million Dollar Highway?

I did ride there. Made the trip a few times, and covered a lot of the passes on a bike that is really too big and heavy to do it :)

Not sure if it's on that highway. I sure wasn't.

Making the town Leadville? No, but I can see how it could appear that way on a map. I think Leadville is farther than that from the top of Mosquito pass.

That's it!

For a few years I went out to the Rockies and rode with some other guys on BMWs over all of the passes. Really good times. Need to go out there again.

Old-school ride report from that year: http://largiader.com/bd2002/ (external link)

Over to you!
