Where was this taken? This is a very good capture with multiple elements — several very tall waterfalls, a large body of water, mountains, fog, and a ship at the bottom of one of the waterfalls to give a sense of scale. Nicely done.

The view from the top of the mountain is the same for everyone, it doesn't matter how long it takes you to get to the top nor how often you fall nor how many people passed you on the climb. As long as you do not give up the reward is there for you.

I'm posting 2 images of the same scene. I don't like to do this, but I keep coming back to this picture.

I went out looking for the light in the first picture. I waited more than a little bit, grinning at tourists, for the sun to drop under a cloud bank. And it did and I got a shot that I like, but it came in really hot. It took more than I thought it would in post to tone down the highlights in the falls.

While I was waiting around I snapped off a bunch of shots. It was pretty dark down in that lower bowl. Dark, flat light. But through the magic of camera raw I pulled out those shadows and what was left was a clean, soft light that balanced better with the shadowy light everywhere else.

I tried to make the first picture look like the 2nd picture in post but there's only so much you can do to change the quality of the light. I like the composition of the first one better and the light in that one is what I went out looking for, but I keep coming back to this one.
