I’m pleased to see that putting a link in my signature worked! Hi, Charles!

To answer your question, “ridiculous” because:
a) we are a very small country, so a thread for Dutch birds alone would be all too limited in scope, I feared, and
b) there are probably not even a handful of Dutch bird photographers on POTN, so I might have ended up being the only one to post in my thread.

Although, as it is, only Dutch birds have been posted in the thread so far, so I may have been wrong and “Birds of the Netherlands” would not have been too ridiculous after all! :-P

As I've over 11.000 bird photo's covering at least 100 species(just checked) I can help you keep this thread going if you want to:lol:

Here's a Rietzanger(Sedge warbler) from yesterday:

Yeah, they are really surprisingly fast flyers.

This looks very sharp to me. Why wasn't 1/2500 enough to satisfy you?

But it is, I was refering to the earlier conversation about wingtip movement and shutterspeed. Even at 1/2500 there is movement in the wingtip but I like that.

Maybe I should have used q
uote but I used reply, less repeated tekst but clicking on reply(top right of the post) gives you the post it refers to.

Thank you for explaining. I did not realize you were replying to Levina for another photo situation.

Where else to take pictures of a rietzanger than 'in het riet'? ;-)a I find it difficult to spot them, often they are halfway in the reed, you just hear them, they can make a lot of noise!

It would be nice to see more European/Dutch birds. There are many I've never seen before.

I'll try to keep posting but there are still lots of birds I've never even seen let alone take pictures of.

Yeah, he sure has a fitting name! They are indeed hard to spot. You use your ears and hope for an opening in the reeds.

Nice captures! A lot of bling though. Were you able to read the rings? I love to report a sighting because then they send you the bird’s life history. It’s pretty cool.

I’m with you, Lyn. There are in fact quite a number of European bird photographers here at POTN. Hopefully in time they will find this thread. We just have to be patient. And in the mean time those of us who are already posting, can continue to post our pics.

Thanks, only partial, they go round!

From the 4 Spoonbill's I saw 3 had rings.
