Thank you for your kind comments Ray! I do appreciate that!!
Yes my Sigma 150-600C is indeed stabilized. I would "assume" the Tamron is also stabilized but do not really know for sure.
What camera body and lens do you have now Ray?
Hi Charles. I have tried a few moon shots in the past but have never been very satisfied with them. I use a tripod and cable release - perhaps I am too fussy! I am using a 7DII and an EF100-400 4.5-5.6L mkII. A very impressive lens and it pairs well with the 7D II. I normally Use the 1.4x extender on it and it seems that there is no noticeable reduction in picture quality.
But I would like a more modern sensor with more Mpixels. I seriously considered the affordable 90D while waiting for the R7. In the meantime, SWMBO suggested I buy the R5 - I was just about to pull the trigger on that deal when the R7 rumour strongly appeared last week, so I put it on hold again. I am hoping that if I wait the R7 will come with GPS. If it turns out it is not imminent I will get the R5. The R5, in the hands of some of the photographers here is producing some very high quality pictures and all the fuss about the overheating problem seems to have taken a back seat since people have started using it instead of criticising it. The bonus here is that all my L series lenses will fit the R5 with a suitable adaptor and I will not have to start a new lens collection when I initially buy the camera.
I have a few glass plates I intend to put up on your thread sometime but I seem to have so many things to do these days .....
