A couple of Paper Wasps resting near their nest. I placed the AF Point on the head and body then combined the frames in PS CC to extend the depth of focus.

Taken with the Canon RF 100mm F2.8L IS USM Macro lens (not yet in database).

Thanks Richard, I believe that these are Stick-nest Brown Paper Wasps, which are common in Brisbane gardens and bushlands.

According to the Brisbane Insects website, this species is the smallest of the paper wasps. Their head, thorax, abdomen and wings are all in dark reddish-brown colour, with darker band on abdomen. They are not aggressive but will sting if their nest is disturbed.

The insects are slowly returning with the warmer weather. Couldn't resist the dying dandelion. Both with the RF 100 macro L, which doesn't seem to be on the lens list.
