Spring Plumage | Colorado | 2022

I came across a lovely grouse on the trail and managed to record a detailed image of the patterns and color in the plumage. Not 100% sharp across the frame due to depth of field with the 100-400mm lens but still wanted to share it here.

I love how they can balance like this with one talon.

Is anyone here using the Godox AD 200? I have godox speed lights and the godox controller but looking to add a strobe and large modifier for product photography and wondered if it would be best to stick with godox.

Anyone got any experience with this one? Is there a different brand/model I would be better looking at?

Regeneration | Colorado | 2022

This is my fourth image in my multi exposure series. It was deeply inspired by the work of Glenys Garnett whose work I recently discovered and recommend.

It's interesting that all of the images in my photo montage series all have trees in them. I don't know exactly why but there must be something going on subconsciously. Unlike the other images in the series, this one has no ICM base. Instead the framework is constructed from three separate images. The pine cones and needles at the bottom is an important element of this creation.

Shooting the Miami Grand Prix from the stands was maybe the most challenging thing I have ever tried from a sports photography standpoint. From my vantage at the suites at turn-five, I did have about three different types of shots I could execute shoot from. Being fortunate enough to even attend the event, I was even more fortunate to be able to practice with my rented RX10iv during P3 and all of qualifying. I won't let it go without saying that my panning skills were exposed while shooting this, and it makes me respect guys like Travis who shoot a lot of motorsport even more.

I wasn't even sure I would be able to get my rented rig into the gate, as the photography rules are intentionally confusing and fairly ambiguous. Leaving the camera in the car just wasn't an option, and upon going through security they barely even looked at the unassuming looking RX10iv. I did see a few other people there with cameras who weren't press, with one guy being bold enough to bring in an a7c/Sigma 100-400 combo. Kudos to him, and I bet he had some great captures. That was the biggest lens I saw among the non-credentialed. There were many more people vlogging than shooting the race, which seems normal for a first-run international event.

Re-Entry | Vega System | 2122

This is a conceptual image that I recently finished called "Re-Entry". I work in the Space industry and so finding an image out in the field which stirred my imagination was quite exciting. The seashells reminded me of space capsules entering a planet's atmosphere. There appears to be a cosmic bow shock in front of them. The "flames" are actually the sun reflecting off a passing wave.

The Horse Of The Bruinen | Granby, Colorado | 2022

This is a single exposure. There was only one key frame of the many that I recorded where the horses appeared. This is snow melt from a river.

Beautiful! I shot with the 100400 yesterday too (well not that you made the feather shot yesterday but you know what I mean :)
Since Poof has taken over the 200600 I'm keeping the 100400 on the a7iv and think it is a great combo.
