Fure Vinga. River Thames. Passing Gravesend. Kent. UK. 06/June/2022.

The ship is in London for a reception being hosted by the Swedish Embassy for people attending MEPC 78 to show off its environmental credentials.

FURE VINGA (IMO: 9890599) Was built in 2021 (1 year ago) and is sailing under the flag of Sweden.
Carrying capacity is 17999 t DWT.
Draught 5.3 meters. Length overall (LOA) 149.9 meters. Width is 22.8 meters.

Chemical tanker owned by Swedish shipowner Furetank. This is the seventh in a series of ten vessels that are being designed with a special focus on minimal impact on the environment. The vessels have a battery hybrid solution and several innovative features that reduce fuel and energy consumption resulting in extensively lower emissions of CO2, Sulphur oxide, Nitrogen oxide and hazardous particles.

The M/T Fure Vinga will arrive in London, passing through Tower Bridge on Monday 6th June at 7:30pm, and will moor alongside HMS Belfast. The tanker leaves London on Wednesday 8th June at 7:30am.

Wow, very interesting ! Thanks for sharing this info. There's so much dire news (for good reason) about the environment, it's great to see some tangible actions that are being made to minimize ongoing impacts.
