Sure. Would be safer too, much lower pressure cartridge.

Cool. Will a .44 special chamber? Are those pressures too much? I guess it's hard to know this....

You can still get 44-40 brass and ammo, still a popular round for Cowboy shooters.

The view from the top of the mountain is the same for everyone, it doesn't matter how long it takes you to get to the top nor how often you fall nor how many people passed you on the climb. As long as you do not give up the reward is there for you.

Got lots of it, most of it loaded with black powder, some with that new fangled smokeless stuff.

I was active in Cowboy Action for several years, don’t live close enough to any clubs now.

Semi available in OH ( a controlled state ) It's kinda hilarious too 'cause I'm really not all that wild about since I'm not a big wheated fan. I drive guys who'd kill for it nuts when I tell them I get it for 49.99 while if they could find it would be charged 100 - 400, lol.

When their regular blend was available here it was about $25 or less a bottle. I loved it. Haven't seen any in a few years though.

$49,99 I'd be in trouble.....

Thought I would try a few ideas inside one of my vehicles using only the cars ambient lighting. A work in progress...

LOL, "Western Auto ammo, $.93 a box." How old is that? I think Western Auto went out of business in the 1970s, right?

I looked it up; "Western Auto Supply Company—known more widely as Western Auto—was a specialty retail chain of stores that supplied automobile parts and accessories. It operated approximately 1200 stores across the United States. It was started in 1909 in Kansas City, Missouri, by George Pepperdine and Don Abnor Davis. Pepperdine later founded Pepperdine University.[1] Western Auto was bought by Beneficial Corporation in 1961; Western Auto's management led a leveraged buyout in 1985, leading three years later to a sale to Sears. Sears sold most of the company to Advance Auto Parts in 1998, and by 2003, the resulting merger had led to the end of the Western Auto brand and its product distribution network."

Yup, almost as old as me LOL. Dad worked for Western Auto for years. I have a Revelation 22LR rifle that was sold by WA when they had firearms and ammo in the stores. I remember (Long ago, in a Galaxy far, far away) watching the sale flyers at WalMart, and buying 500 round "bricks" of 22 for $5.00.

Ah, the good old days.

I have a Springfield A303 (in original 30-06) that my wife's stepfather bought in the 1950's and then sporterized for hunting deer and elk. (he has been deceased for a while)

He told me he bought it direct from the NRA in the 1950's- it was an offer for members. They mailed it to him directly, still unissued in cosmoline. For $10.00.

And yes he hunted lots of deer and elk with it (he lived in Montana)......
