I take the 24-104L when I travel. I've stopped carrying a bunch of extra stuff that I need to lug around. So far its done the job for me.

This is exactly what i took to Florida earlier this year and although not the lightest weight, i found this covered everything i needed, and i didnt miss my 'better' gear at all.

airfrogusmc I'm a chimper. There I said it... More info | Jan 18, 2020 09:23 | #18 My usual travel kit in a Leica M Monochrom and a Leica 35mm Summilux FLE. Battery charger, extra batteries and small rocket blower. Years ago I found the F/L that really matches the way I see. Once that happened I realized I didn't need all the F/Ls I only need the one that matches the way I see naturally. Makes the travel/street kit easy and there are no long decisions about what lenses to take. I tend to see in B&W to so the MM and 35 F/L really match the way I see and work.

I like my 24mm pancake for a walk around lens in city areas. I appreciate the versatility of the zoom when more of a outdoor/landscape opportunity.

SYS Cream of the Crop More info | Jan 19, 2020 10:11 | #20 I'll be on a month long trip to South Korea in a couple months, and I'm planning on only taking 16-35L on my 5D IV, the same set up like the last trip. A decade ago, the same trip had me taking my 24-70L, but now even this set up is heavy and burdensome, so the "brick" stays home. I'd take the 17-50 on 80D.

bigguytf Senior Member More info | Mar 30, 2022 18:18 | #21 I like the 18-135 IS USM Nano. Great lens. If you can get it in take a wide angle prime (24mm 2.8) or the nifty fifty. Good sharp lens with little weight. Canon 7D 2, Canon 6D 2. 111, Canon 24-105 4L IS, Canon 70-200 2.8 IS II, Canon 100-400 II, Canon 28-135, Canon 17-40 4L.

I combine it with my Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM and have 11-300mm covered. During the evening or at night, I use my Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM.

The APS-C version of that has become my walkaround-in-the-city kit. 90D (or equiv) + 10-22mm + 18-135mm nano. All fits in a TT Retrospective 7 bag with room to spare. Gives me 16-216mm of effective focal length. Not much speed, though.
