Thanks for the case info. I’ll give your settings a try. I was on Case 2 this morning: TS fully left and AC/DC + 1. I found that focus jumped very quickly to a second bird in the frame.
On the bright side, I have two families of wrens in the garden. :-)

I have also set ‘Switching Tracked Subjects’, in AF menu #4, to 0.

Two families of wrens in the garden? Oh, that’s nice. Their song is so lovely and with two families you’ll be hearing it in stereo! :-P

Are you sending your camera to Canon for a check up? Never heard the final resolution on that.

Yes, the plan was to send it in. But I’ve decided not just yet. I can’t be without my camera now, and as the camera seems to be working perfectly again, I’ll wait. I have full warranty until 26 September.

Yes, I must check what I have ‘Switching Tracked Subjects’ set to. (Thanks); It did enter my head today, but quickly got lost in the fog :-))
I managed to get a pic of a fledgling on the ground, waiting in dappled shade for mum or dad to return with a mid morning snack.
Stereo is fairly accurate, and when they are in warning mode, it’s like ‘turn that down’ ! :-)

LOL
It really is amazing how a bird as tiny as a wren can sing that loud!

Barn Owl hunting. 18 months owning this camera and I still can't get over how well the tracking just locks on to a subject.

Yeah my guess is there is nothing wrong with the camera. That third party extended sounds like the culprit.

But since they suggested you send it in sounds like a good idea. Good luck.

I too think the Kenko was responsible and if the camera continues to perform well, I may decide to not send it in at all, come September.

My new puppy stretching her legs.
Photo was heavily cropped due to using my 50mm prime.

Thanks!
You are correct about the trouble.
It takes a ton of training to keep a Weimaraner puppy from destroying everything in sight.

Paul, as much as I love the baby swan, my favourite is the second shot. The flowers and the low angle make this shot. I think it’s great.

Thank you Levina. I do have a soft spot for donkeys - they are so adorable!
