Looks like a juvenile Black-crowned Night-heron to me.

Yes; that. :) Young Great Blues are larger and have the long, slender neck that their parents do; young Little Blues are white, like an Egret, among other things.

Check the Juvenile pic they've got posted on that link and I think you'll see your bird 8)

PS: It's always best to post location and date when trying to ID an unknown bird. It really helps narrow down the possibilities. Solid snap, btw...it's fun seeing these guys on the wing instead of buried in a bush somewhere :p

That is it, added another bird to my life list

It was at Ellis Pond in Norwood MA, ebird lists it as infrequent

If you're there regularly, keep an eye on any tangled growth at or overhanging the waters' edge; they like to sleep in close to trunks, near waterways and they start being more active in the evenings. This looks like it was relatively late (or maybe early) light which is nice for making them stand out a little more.

I am there all the time and it was about 8 am about 90 minutes after sunrise. There is nothing but overhanging brush.
