Jun 18, 2022 23:15 | #6993 A fly. Image hosted by forum (1164354) © Archibald [SHARE LINK] I'm trying out a new flash (Godox twin M12) with newly fashioned diffusers (didn't much like the OEM diffusers). I usually try to have the lights with the main at the 1 o'clock and fill at the 9 o'clock positions for bugs facing right. The diffusers are fairly thin, which gives me some shadows and modelling, and lots of light. My main was at 1/8 or 1/4 power, fill was 2 stops less.THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Jun 19, 2022 10:37 | #6998 A little longlegged fly. I find these a real challenge to photograph, because of their small size and iridescent bodies. This one was shot with the Godox M12 flashes and cropped quite a bit (from 6960 to 2935 px wide). Sharpened in Topaz to reduce what I think were diffraction artifacts. These are the ones I specifically try to look out for, but I tend to only see a couple in any given year. Well, this is the first one of 2022.
