Yes, thats the first thing I thought of. If the A1 has this on a software update, then I’m pretty sure they will build that into the A7R5. So a question for those that know more about camera innards than I do, if for example the A7R5 keeps the 61mp, do you think the M raw files (which might be roughly the same resolution as the A74 - 33mp) would be the same quality (noise, dynamic range mostly) as the A74 files?

Bit of a specific question I know, but at some point in the next 6 months I’m hoping to get the A74, and just wondering if it might be worth waiting for the A7R5? Every now and again I could use the high res files but day to day it would kill my computer! But I also like the idea of an awesome EVF and LCD. :-)

Yah sometimes a high mp can be handy especially to someone like me who cannot afford a good zoom lens. I sold my R4 because it's overkill for my RE. Now if the R5 will have the SML raw, i will go back to the R series especially now that I have a loaded 14" Macbook. Brian Smith told me he's been pushing Sony engineers to implement the SML raw and he's positive that feature is something the future Sonys will have moving forward. I've been demanding SML Raw in Sony FB groups from time to time. Right now my go to camera for photos is a Sony A7IV and A7SIII for my real estate videos.

Haven’t seen Travis post anything in some weeks. Sent a pm thats not been read yet.

Been on vacation this week, work has been busy, family health issues, my dad has been in pretty bad shape since February...wifes health is not great right now...not terribly motivated for photography right now...a bit burnt out and uninspired right now.

Yeah, even that is cut way down...less than 1/3 the time I used to spend on social media these days...I rarely even watch YT for photography anymore. Kind of in a funk.
