Police chopper from the German police in Wernigerode Germany.

Very interesting, indeed.

Can you date this chopper to before or after German reunification?
It appears to me as if it could be from either era, late or new.

I thought it was a police chopper, but it is originally an army chopper.

I found info on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mil_Mi-2 (external link)

The Mil Mi-2 (NATO reporting name Hoplite) is a small, lightly armed turbine-powered transport helicopter that could also provide close air support when armed with 57 mm rockets and a 23 mm cannon. It was produced in Poland.

The German police has used these helicopters. I don't know till what time and the task they were used for.

Jos.

Looks a lot like a Hughes 500. The one of the left looks a lot like a Hughes 300.

I see a difference. The Hughes 500 has more windows and is probably bigger and can transport more passengers. See a picture of a Hughes 500 taken from the internet.

Westland Lysander, exhibited in the private Shuttleworth collection in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, UK. My favourite plane in the collection (and they have a Spitfire), it was used to land spies behind enemy lines and to rescue downed pilots. You can see the additional fuel tank underneath the plane, on the other side is a fixed ladder to enable spies to get out of and into the aircraft in occupied France.
The missions were so secret the spies didn't know until the morning of their flight, by receiving 2 eggs for breakfast rather than the usual single egg.
