Sigh . . .
I never intended for my comment to take on a life of its own. My comment was mostly to bring up that there was another thread targeting 2022 landscapes.
I am well aware of the number of threads that are very old, but (for example the one you have cited), they generally are very limited in their rate of postings. Indeed that one cited has but three pages since 2005. Landscapes on the other hand have such a huge number of postings that three pages could easily be exceeded in one day.
I'm not an adiministrator, but I suspect that at some point threads may reach a limit (or become full) based on the number of postings. I have seen comments to that effect before. So, for very popular topics (such as landscapes), it makes sense to break them up in a logical maner (like, for example by year). It helps avoid a thread becoming "full" at some point and drive a new start at some random place. Instead, if the restart is at a logical break point (like year change overs), it may make more sense than some random point in time when the "thread full" light comes on.
I hope I have put this to rest. Folks can post to whatever landscape thread they like. I don't care. I was just trying to point out that there was a new one out there that the poster may not have been aware of.
With that . . .
. . . . signing off.
