Wow, very interesting ! Thanks for sharing this info. There's so much dire news (for good reason) about the environment, it's great to see some tangible actions that are being made to minimize ongoing impacts.

Just seen seen your post Mike - Yes; I thought it might raise some interest, thanks, but just a drop in the ocean - as a cynic might say.:-)

From my Alaska trip. Don't get many chances to shoot big boats in Nevada.

Distributor (very aptly named, by the way) has a very interesting aft deck with what appear to be deck chairs under a tattered-looking Union Jack. Deck chairs are not usually seen on a working boat.
Very good pictures of an interesting vessel.

I've noticed some of the river boats on the Rhine also seemed very "homey" with small cars and children's toys on deck. I've wondered whether they were owned by a family, like some trucks are owned by one person here- a single truck operation.

I'll tell you what, umgrizz! You would have been glad to have seen that tatty looking union Jack if you were bogged down and under fire on the beaches of Dunkirk between May/June 1940. In fact, that is maybe were it came from:-)

Thank you for your interest Umgrizz and Capn.
I think the crew had nipped ashore for the local supermarket.
Two more pictures - The upper picture is the afterdeck, just like your average backyard with deck chairs, but there was no nice plants or flowers in pots.:-)

In the lower picture I was trying to convey an impression of the deck length. The main deck was immaculately tidy as to be expected.
The vessel's draught is reported 2.4.metres.
