House Wren with food for the fledglings

Magnificent series Rob. Very nice to see a sequence like this and in such detail and clarity

The Warbler Guide refers to this as a "stained" Prothonotary Warbler. The reddish color on the face and head of this bird results from its feeding on hibiscus.

Steve these are really beautiful striking birds.

Little duckie got caught in the hook of an abandoned fish line. I guess it must have gone for the bait. Luckily the awesome rangers at the Shadow Cliffs Regional Park were fast to act! After a quick check, the little one was off! A bit later it seemed to be all better.

So nice to see a good outcome to a sad but too common issue

We've got a lot of rather scruffy looking meadow pipits kicking about at the moment...

Very nice series, PinholeR5 I like happy endings when it comes to wildlife stories.

Thanks Mike. This was indeed one of the happy ending ones!

What a killer shot, Steve! It's truly amazing. I realize the second shot was to show us the red stain on the warbler's head. It too is a very nice shot!

Thanks so much, Mike! And, yes, you are 100% correct about the 2nd shot...it's not often they get in that pose.
