Great shot Mike -- I like the composition you selected -- I wonder what he is looking at?

This bird seems to be well worth its name.
Fantastic shot.
Thank you for sharing it with us.

Thank you, Mike! It's been a wonderful time watching mom and the 2 young. So many opportunities to observe their behaviors. Today, one of the two young ones caught a mouse, an indication, I think, that the young will soon depart.

I'm glad you are enjoying these guys, Steve.

This is one beautiful portrait, Mike! Great sharpness, clarity, gradient in background and perspective.

Steve, you give such glowing compliments. I only wish I could live up to them. I sincerely want to thank you for your kind and thoughtful words.

Thank you Rich. I appreciate your kind kudos. This phoebe was looking up at it's mate who was perched above.

This is lovely, Mike. Apart from the photographic aesthetics you created, the pose you captured says so much, a thinking pondering bird!

4th straight frost in a row and the wrens were taking advantage of the early morning sun and soaking up every bit of warmth they could grab

At one time there were 4 in a huddle. Fun to watch them interacting with each other. I'll see if I can resurrect anything from my photos later

this is half an hour before the ones of the wrens above and in the lee of my sheds
It was quite comical to watch as the hen would stand on one leg then gingerly put the other down to take a step then quickly lift it, shake it and then put it back down again, move on and lift a leg again
I imagine the ground wasn't to its liking
temperature about -3C
